Caroline Nakuya Youth Foundation

CNYF has been set up in memory of our beautiful daughter, sister and friend, Caroline Nakuya who was called to the Lord on 3/08/2013 at 27 years old . Caroline got a brain hemorrhage and passed on after 6 days. Caroline was a member of the Keith Heart Foundation and a Registered Organs Donor. Caroline’s kidneys saved two lives. A mother of three in her early 30s and a father of 3 in her late 50s who had been on dialysis for 3 years. Both the recipients were grateful and were doing well. Caroline always had her heart set to helping children and Youth in Uganda who were having hardships in their lives; so let us continue her legacy to carry on her work.
Training in entrepreneurial and empowerment skills, To run a youth centre, To run a Nursery, primary school and secondary school, To run vocational skills trainings (metal fabrication, carpentry, welding, mechanics, tailoring, saloon, Phone, Radio and TV repair ICT), To promote community development, To create a library, To build a youth sport centre and to run sport activities ,To run a film acting and production business / a didactic video/movie, films, To construct recreation and business centre with; Cafeteria , Business/Shops, Sport centre, Information centre i.e. cultural heritage and tourist promotion services and marketing rural agricultural products through internet, Film show centre, Provision of credit to those engaged in small scale business , Café service, Shop trading, Sport centre, Information centre, Film Show centre, Small agricultural activities and vocational training activities, To improve the capacity of the staff of local NGOs and CBOs.

The overall objective of this project is to create an enabling environment for the youth of Katabi area of Wakiso District so that they can be self - dependent, contribute to the development of the area and be active participants in development efforts of the nation.

Specific objectives are to inculcate entrepreneurial skills in the youth, to make youth self-employed, and initiate the youth to be engaged in sporting activities, small business (micro-credit revolving fund), vocational skills training, a didactic movie, ICT enterprises and other similar innovative and creative projects.

To identify and recruit young girls who are disadvantaged as a core group for supporting to start with.

Health

CNYF will be implementing health care education through ICT training including HIV/AIDS prevention. We shall also provide care and support to most vulnerable children living in risky environment areas of Katabi. We shall also raise youth campaigns in reducing poverty through ICT training solutions. We plan to train over 40 home-based care givers, who will take care of training programs intended for 6 sustainability of youth welfare

ICT

To promote information, communication and technology in our area of operations, we shall establish a computer centre within Katabi and nearby Villages. Most Katabi youth and most vulnerable children will be deployed in that centre. As a result we shall be offering them computer training programs relating to entrepreneurs activities and poverty reduction strategies.

Sewing Machines

To reduce youth poverty in our area of operations, we shall introduce a Tailoring and sewing machines project in which most youth and those most vulnerable children, girls who drop out of schools will be undertaking embroidery, arts and design skills, and tailoring training

Education

CNYF will purchase 2 acres of land at Kawuku village for the construction of a Resourceful Centre with schools, Vocational Studies College, youth sport centre, library, youth recreation development, business creative art sector and the construction is expected to start in June year 2020

Capacity building

A youth empowerment project will be launched with a youth recreation sector, providing credit and loans technical business skills on how to manage business, value addition, commercial production, export local made products, and money disciplines received from loans providers and commercial banks. Also we shall be offering a Revolving Fund to petty trading people, and sport materials and so on.

Orphans and Street Children

In CNYF proposed operations area has a number of Orphans, Semi Orphan and Street Children majority being girls. The problem of orphan / street children is acute due to urbanization and industrialization.
